 North Highland Forest Trust

 Project Support Officer Vacancy

Term: Part-time 1day per week (7.5hrs per week).  Fixed Term, 3 year contract. 

Salary: In the range £15-17,000 pro-rata (plus annual inflationary increase and pension contribution) (or appropriate equivalent rate for self-employed)

Project Support Officer:-North Highland Forest Trust (NHFT) requires an able and enthusiastic individual to provide secretarial, financial and administrative support for our current project team based in our office in the Voluntary Groups building in Golspie.  You will be expected to provide a sound financial record of all company transactions, monitor delivery of our project budget and provide secretarial support to our staff, board and membership.  Additional tasks likely to include assisting with: production of newsletters; organising of events (such as our annual Forum); reporting to our funders; and with compiling our Annual Report.  You will be expected to assume the role of Company Secretary. 

A flexible approach to working hours is welcomed. E.g. It may be appropriate to work two half-days per week, or other combinations of these hours.  Some home working may also be possible. 

Woodland Biodiversity Project:- The key focus for NHFT at present is the delivery of the Woodland Biodiversity Project.  This three year project aims to support sustainable management and expansion of biodiversity-rich woodlands across Caithness and Sutherland.  The project will provide a free advice service to crofters, community groups and other woodland managers and will provide a full support service in accessing grant-aid and in developing woodland projects.

North Highland Forest Trust:- NHFT was established in 1999 to promote sustainable management and expansion of woodlands in North Scotland for the benefit of local people.  We are a charitable company limited by guarantee, governed by our voluntary Board of Directors and are responsible to a membership comprising groups and individuals from across the North.  Our current projects support a staff of one full-time manager/forester, one part-time forester and one part-time Project Support Officer.
